It serves as both an ode to my upbringing in Anchorage, Alaska and a reflection of my journey through the helping profession. In many ways, it is a love letter to the experiences, relationships, and lessons that have shaped who I am as a therapist. Throughout my work, I have come to believe that one of the most meaningful parts of growth is identifying and living in alignment with our values. When we take the time to explore what truly matters to us, we create an anchor. Something steady and dependable that helps us navigate life's challenges, transitions, and uncertainties. Rather than being pulled in every direction by circumstances or expectations, we can return to the values that ground us and guide our decisions. The word anchor represents that sense of calm, stability, and connection. It reflects the belief that meaningful change does not come from becoming someone different, but from developing a deeper relationship with who we already are and what matters most. The word point speaks to direction. Values not only ground us; they also help us move forward. They point us toward the life we want to build, helping us take intentional steps that align with our goals, relationships, and sense of purpose.
